Melina Lozano is a Mexican American potter currently based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally from San Antonio, TX, she studied at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina, where she received her BA in Fine Art alongside a focus in Sustainable Forestry.  Currently a full time ceramic artist, her work is heavily inspired by the southwestern desert flora, specifically the agave, with it’s resilience and persevering ability to withstand it’s rugged environment. Each piece is crafted by hand and fired to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Her work is made to last, crafted with the intention to bring the feeling of the desert to it’s user, regardless of location.
